The Impact & Leadership Development Program (ILDP) is once again offering vital grant-supported coaching and support to Prince George-based social purpose organizations, with the aim of strengthening community impact and financial sustainability.
Building on the success of last year’s launch of the ILDP in the region, Prince George Community Foundation and Interior Savings, a trade name of Beem Credit Union, are partnering with Purppl once again to deliver funding to support the next wave of impact-driven leaders.
Designed for emerging social enterprises and nonprofits in Prince George who are committed to addressing complex social challenges, the ILDP equips leaders with the tools to grow their capacity, deepen community impact, and ensure the long-term sustainability of their operations. As social purpose organizations face increased pressure due to economic uncertainty, inflation, and growing service demand, this program provides a much-needed opportunity to build resilience.
Supporting Prince George Social Purpose Leaders
ILDP provides access to coaching in four critical areas: impact strategy, business model development, operations, and leadership growth.
Each organization selected will receive 6-12 months of personalized coaching from Purppl Entrepreneurs In Residence (EIRs), experienced social impact professionals who walk alongside leaders as mentors, coaches and collaborators to achieve their goals.
The program is funded by community grants, with participants contributing a small portion of the cost to reinforce their commitment to the program and the outcomes they set out to achieve.
ILDP Success Stories in Prince George
Two standout participants from the first round of ILDP in Prince George demonstrate the program’s transformative impact. These key social service organizations each collaborated with Purppl EIR Alyssa Tataryn to advance the scale of their impact while developing greater autonomy.
Prince George Hospice and Palliative Society
The Prince George Hospice and Palliative Society, one of the only dedicated hospice care facilities in northern British Columbia, needed help to understand how to best use their large property for expanded services.
Alyssa conducted research with individuals in care, their families, and the community at large to produce a feasibility study that showed local understanding of palliative care was higher than the national average. This study highlighted the most in-demand services and positioned the Society to make informed decisions about resource allocation for their next legacy project, minimizing the risk of service redundancy.
Alyssa’s work provided a robust framework for research and impact measurement that can be leveraged by other service providers throughout the province.

AimHi
AimHi, one of the largest employers in Northern BC, provides opportunities and support to people with special needs and their families. Managing more than 40 group homes and a number of employment and training programs, the society needed to re-examine the social enterprises they operated, especially in response to dramatic changes to program costs and structure from their provincial funder.
Alyssa worked with the team to develop a Theory of Change and financial model to explore how AimHi’s high capability in property management and food services could be restructured to increase impact while also satisfying the new program requirements.
This strategic shift has positioned AimHi to be able to provide more employment and social inclusion opportunities within the Prince George region.

Eligibility and How to Apply
Applications are open now for this round of funding.
Registered charities, nonprofits, and social enterprises operating in Prince George, especially those with plans to launch or grow revenue-generating initiatives, are encouraged to apply. While organizations running or planning social enterprises are prioritized, all registered charities are eligible.
The ILDP provides tailored coaching at a fraction of the cost, with grants from community partners covering the majority of expenses.
