Hilary Henegar Leads Purppl’s Storytelling and Communications

As part of Purppl’s continued commitment to enabling social entrepreneurs and impact leaders to build sustainable, regenerative enterprises that address systemic inequity, we are thrilled to announce a new round of funding for the Impact & Leadership Development Program (ILDP).

ILDP is a grant-funded, capacity building program for purpose-driven for-profits and nonprofits seeking to increase the impact, sustainability and resilience of their organizations. Building on the success of previous years, ILDP provides customized, strategic support tailored to the unique needs and contexts of each participant.

Each ILDP participant is matched with seasoned social impact leaders who bring a wealth of field and industry experience to help navigate the complexities of impactful work.

Since the program’s inception, dozens of social enterprises have accessed coaching and support on impact modelling, revenue development, financial management, strategic and operational planning, operations and process improvement, and leadership development.

How the Impact & Leadership Development Program Works

Emerging social enterprise and impact leaders in British Columbia’s Thompson-Okanagan region, Prince George and Fraser Valley are eligible to apply for 6-12 months of subsidized coaching and support through Purppl. Participants are paired with experienced Entrepreneurs In Residence (EIRs), who work with organizations to provide ongoing tactical and strategic support and mentorship.

Grants from the community partners cover the majority of the program costs, however successful applicants are required to pay a small percentage as a reflection of their commitment.

Charities and nonprofits based in the Okanagan, Similkameen, Columbia, Shuswap and Fraser Valley are eligible; while charities, nonprofits, and social enterprises are eligible in Kamloops, Prince George, and the surrounding areas.

The ILDP is made possible through partnership, with a coalition of impact-aligned partners in BC’s Interior coming together to contribute funds, expertise and coaching capacity. Our thanks to United Way BC, Interior Savings (a trade name of Beem Credit Union), Community Foundation North Okanagan, Community Foundation of the South Okanagan-Similkameen, Central Okanagan Foundation, and Valley First, a Division of First West Credit Union, and the Prince George Community Foundation.

Customized Support to Propel Impact

Having served social entrepreneurs and impact leaders for almost a decade, we understand that no two organizations are the same. That’s why ILDP offers support that meets applicants exactly where they are.

Whether it’s adjusting the timing and cadence of our engagements, providing a fractional executive to walk alongside the team, or bringing in a skilled specialist to set up a new operational system, our approach is about fitting our expertise to each participant’s needs.
