Grant-funded, capacity building program for social impact organizations seeking to increase their impact, sustainability and resilience

Azaria Anderson is Purppl’s Marketing Coordinator.

As part of Purppl’s continued commitment to enabling social entrepreneurs and impact leaders to build sustainable, regenerative enterprises that address systemic inequity, we are thrilled to announce a new round of funding for the Impact & Leadership Development Program (ILDP)

ILDP is a grant-subsidized, capacity-building program for purpose-driven organizations seeking to increase their impact, sustainability and resilience. Building on the success of the past 8 years of this program, ILDP provides customized, strategic support tailored to the unique needs and contexts of each participant.

Each ILDP participant is matched with seasoned social impact leaders as coaches who bring a wealth of field and industry experience to help navigate the complexities of impactful work.

Since the program’s inception, dozens of social enterprises have accessed coaching and support on revenue development, impact modelling, financial management, strategic and operational planning, operations and process improvement, and leadership development.

How the Impact & Leadership Development Program Works

The ILDP is made possible through partnership, with a coalition of impact-aligned partners like Community Foundation North Okanagan; Community Foundation of the South Okanagan-Similkameen; Central Okanagan Foundation; and Valley First, a Division of First West Credit Union, in BC’s Interior all coming together to contribute funds, expertise and coaching capacity.

Through this program, charity and nonprofit leaders in the Okanagan, Similkameen, Columbia, Shuswap, and Kamloops regions are eligible to apply for 6-12 months of subsidized coaching and support through Purppl. Participants are paired with experienced Entrepreneurs In Residence (EIRs), who work with their organizations to provide ongoing tactical and strategic support and mentorship.

Grants from the community partners cover the majority of the program costs, however, successful applicants are required to pay a small percentage as a reflection of their commitment.

In this round of funding, eligible organizations must be charities or nonprofits. (If you are a for-profit social enterprise, contact Jude Brunt directly about ways you may qualify under this program.)

“The Impact Leadership Development Program supports the kind of bold, values-driven leadership our region needs. We’ve seen firsthand how this program helps local changemakers strengthen their operations, expand their impact, and build sustainable models rooted in community. Partnering with Purppl and other funders in this work aligns deeply with our mission to foster a resilient and thriving North Okanagan.” – Leanne Hammond, Executive Director, Community Foundation North Okanagan

Customized Support to Propel Impact

Having served social entrepreneurs and impact leaders for almost a decade, we understand that no two organizations are the same. That’s why ILDP offers support that meets applicants exactly where they are.

Whether it’s adjusting the timing and cadence of our engagements around your intense activity periods, providing a fractional executive to walk alongside the team, or adding a skilled specialist to set up a new operational system, our approach is about bringing relevant expertise to each participant’s needs.
